The Benson Model helps both community healthcare providers and commissioners to drive performance improvement and innovation, optimise resources and supports change within the context of operational and financial sustainability.

Since 2012, this model has been implemented by over 60 Healthcare providers across the UK. It has been extensively tested throughout this period and links directly to existing NHS systems.

The Benson Model is an interactive, online tool that provides straightforward, useful reports, using existing NHS data that is routinely collected on a regular basis. These automated reports provide summaries of key performance indicators across multiple disciplines and criteria in a standard format, enabling objective comparisons across divisions and teams to improve quality of service, to drive efficiency, spark innovation and improve value. The reports also act as an ideal benchmarking tool externally across providers.

The Benson Model is a tool that support Performance and Improve function (P&I). It is quick to implement, cost-effective and easy to use, flexible and resource light. It has been applied to hundreds of projects across UK Community Healthcare and has been extensively validated.
